Loss of habitat, and the trending rise of cheetahs as pets has decreased the population of cheetahs by 90% in just the last century(bigcatrescue.org/cheetah-population) The rising trend for luxury pets in the middle east is causing a flourishing market. These animals cubs are snached from their mothers in africa and transported on a boat to yemen then moved across the arabian peninsula to these oil rich countries where these animals are a symbol of high class. Unfortunately 70% of these helpless cubs die during the transportation process. Humans have also taken 91% of the cheetah's natural historic habitat and now cheetahs can only be found in 6 countries in africa.
