The era of the Black Arts Movement was developed by the concept of promoting, and influencing artistic blackness. This movement birthed one of the most controversial but yet significant organizations of our time such as the Black Panther Party. By most the poet Imamu Amiri Baraka is considered the founder of the Black Arts Movement. This movement developed the important, and versatile connection between arts and politics. Taking stereotypes, and racism, and turning it into something with artistic value was only done through the Black Arts Movement.
