In 1980, China implemented the one-child policy, allowing only one child per family. China made this rule to combat the rapid population growth, as they were worried about running out of resources and had environmental concerns. However, in doing so they created even more unforeseen problems. The one-child policy in China was a bad idea because it caused the population to age and start to decline, had excessive burden on young Chinese workers, and created a feeling of loneliness among the youth.
