College sports have grown into become an American tradition. College Sports has brought family and friends closer. Whether it just having a family game night or eating wings at Buffalo Wild Wings, people cannot get enough of College sports. College athletes have gained immense popularity among Americans over the past few decades. This has resulted into increased revenues for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the participating colleges which has fueled the debate of whether college athletes should be compensated beyond their athletic scholarship. Whether it be football, basketball, or hockey, intercollegiate sports have brought in a surplus of revenue to their respective Universities, as well as increasing the popularity of the College’s reputation. Concussions are the most serious injury a college athlete can obtain. conncussions make up to 7.4 percent of all injuries in college football players. the preseason had the highest injury rate 9.7 percent per 1000 athlete compared to inseason which is 7.5 percent and postseason which is 4.2 percent. A concussion can cause perment brain damage, depression and balance problems which can end an athlete career. A broken bone are also common injuries that an athlete receieve. sometimes the bone is broken so badly they can never play sports again or even walk. An injury can also interfer with an athletes future. After committing to the University of Oklahoma, KYLE Hardrick suffered an injury to the knee which as put a hold on his future and his scholarship, leaving him to not be able to attend Unviversity of Oklahoma for another semester. Kyle’s mother said “ “You believe that your child will be taken care of on and off that court throughout their college career,My insurance does not cover all of Kyle’s medical
