To start I would like to say that college athletes should not be paid for several reasons.
According to Scoop Jackson “There is not a payment system that is fair across the board to all of the students.” (Jackson) That means swimmers, volleyball players, and a lot more college athletes would have to be paid. Horace Mann stated that “Student athletes are not professional athletes who are paid salaries and incentives for a career in sports.” (Mann) This proves that being a student athlete is not a career.
