The NCAA is a multi-billion dollar industry that generated over $845 billion last year due to their players’ ability to entertain and perform to their fullest extent at all times. So with all of this money flowing in, why wouldn’t they provide their athletes a portion of it ? Now if I ask you should college athletes be paid , some of you would think im crazy but there is many different opinions on this topic . there are many reasons why ncaa athletes should be paid, one reason why players should be paid is for one thing a typical divison 1 college football player puts in 43 hours of practice each week. That’s about 3 hours more than a typical American, and you also cant forget they also have a social life , so after practice they also have many priorites such as school work. . …show more content…

College Universities generate so much revenue during the season of each sport that it is only fair to the players who bring in billons of dollars to their university, get a cut of the renuve . College athletes should get paid based on the university’s revenue, apparel sales, and lack of spending money. The NCAA does not see its players as professional athletes simply because they are in college.
