I grew up with a love of music! Through competitive dance, ice skating, the performing arts and now, competition marching band. The one and only competitive marching band show I saw before trying out for Color Guard was titled, “Beatles” which included all their most famous songs. After that show I knew where I needed to be, on the field performing with the color guard. Joining during the Covid years was not something that I had expected, however it drove me to practice on my own, everyday. I would practice, rifle, flag and saber for hours and hours. Our high school competition marching band opened up a new opportunity for me, color guard; this incorporated dance, music and performing all in one. I love to perform, the music fuels my passion. Color guard is everything; from practicing after hours, to teaching and updating my other guard members, there has been so much time spent with my band family, yet I wouldn't change a thing. The long hot summer days, devoted to perfecting the drills and working with crews to build, set-up and clean up. There also were many hours of volunteering; clothing drives, car washes and mum sales just to name a few. All to help raise money for the flags, props and other band related materials. As a focused and determined senior, this scholarship will assist me in furthering my academics and my love for performing. I don't need easy, I just need something! I work very diligently to maintain an A average or above. My activities in and out of school keep me busy but also help me to become a better, more well-rounded individual. I will not take this opportunity lightly, I have learned the hard way in life to not take anything for
