Prior to community college, I was a low-achieving student who likely would not have succeeded with the attitude I had at the time. My entire time at my community college was highly strategic and thought out to lead me to GW (or Boston University). I had to solve the problem of my poor high school experience so that I could obtain a high-quality baccalaureate education. I signed up for each of my classes to be transferrable and in-line with the curriculum taught at the four-year college. My class load was designed to mirror the rigor of GW or Boston’s workload. Additionally, the two schools (particularly GW) were my schools of choice because their programs for International Business were highly ranked for their quality. My collegiate experience utilized my strategic, futuristic, and restorative strengths. I strategized how I could resolve my poor academic performance in the past, to lead me to success here at GW. I envisioned a successful academic career for the future, working each day to achieve that goal.
My most important goal for my first semester at GW is to obtain a GPA of 3.5 or higher; an academic goal. Achieving this is important as I feel compelled to continue the level of academic success from my previous college, in addition to maintain my prospect of attending graduate school. Being successful in each of my classes will require a great amount of strategizing and specific allotment of time to optimize my performance. Additionally, I will need to form relationship (which I generally achieve by being very encouraging and motivating) to have a support system when problems
