Robert Downey Jr. once stated,“Hero is not a noun, it is a verb.” Some people say that heroes are only found between the pages of a book or behind a movie screen. Others say that heroes are only the people who do great and extraordinary feats of strength, courage, or selflessness in service to people. Although I agree that a hero can be fictional characters, and that people who selflessly serve people are definitely heroes, I also believe that everyday people can be heroes. My hero is my grandfather . He is my hero because he is hardworking, dependable, and loving. Never slacking off or being lazy, my grandfather is hardworking. When he is working on a project, whether for others or for himself, he makes sure that it is done to the fullest of his capabilities. He works on multiple projects at one time, always making sure that it is done correctly and right. Upon finishing a project he double-checks and verifies that everything is the way it is supposed to be and that nothing is loose or lacking in stability or durability. He is a very loving and a very caring person. Although he is busy, he will never neglect to take time to talk and say hello to me. Even when he only smiles, that small act of kindness and love helps me feel better when I am having a bad day. It also helps me when I’m having a good day. My grandfather never ceases to care for others when they are sad or hurt. When I am working on something, either easy or hard, he helps me and is patient with me when I mess up.
