These days the practice of nursing is on the spot of many changes that to be made in the nursing industry in the upcoming years, because of the amount of technologies that are in use. In fact, according to Blais & Hayes (2016), it has being in use for more than twenty years. Now in days its use is more demanded because of the increasing of technologies. It is a digital report of a patient’s chart. It can be accessed twenty four hours a day in a secure way from any locations. It maintains users with reminders and alerts. It is used to gather data on many patients in health system and is designed for clinical management. The use of this data is costly. Although the purpose of the electronic records is for the health of individuals use but now they have the potential of using it to monitor the health of a population. According to the using electronic health records article, many chronic diseases have now taking place of many infectious diseases in the US and other countries. So instead of using it to monitor one individual health lets use it for more people to control and perhaps prevent diseases. It will include patients in their care and improve their awareness when it comes to medications, labs results.
