Firstly, I am going to talk about The Dark Thing. This represent evil in this story. It made the earth troubled and it appeared on surface of the Earth. Meg and the others knew the Black Thing was Evil, but they didn’t know where it came from and relationship between the Dark Thing and IT. It was the first challenge Meg had to overcome. "But what is it?" Calvin demanded. "We know that it's evil, but what is it?” . Not only was The Dark Thing evil, but it is also the Power of Darkness. Mrs. Which's voice rang out. "Itt iss Eevill. Itt iss thee Ppowers of
Ddarrkknesss!”. They didn’t want trouble to prevent them from their journey to rescue their father. They had to continue to fight against it. But they are human beings, so they can struggle against the Dark Thing with the help of the Mrs’ W’s. They saw the Dark Thing was defeated by the stars, clear and pure. Mrs.Whatsit used to be a star, when she fought against
The Dark Thing but The Dark Thing was too powerful and she couldn’t overcome it. Secondly, I will discuss about Mrs’ W’s. They represent good, they were the main characters in this story. They were mentioned almost in the whole story. They helped Meg find her father. With the help of the Mrs’ W’s, they came to Camazotz to attempt to save her dad. They reminded Meg, Charles, Calvin about their danger, told them their strengths and faults.“Beware of pride and arrogance, Charles, for they may betray you” “I will strengthen this gift. Meg, I give you your faults” “Charles Wallace, to you I can give only the resilience of your childhood”. After that, their dad escaped Camazotz but Charles was controlled by IT’s mind.
W’s appeared right time when Meg needed their help Calvin and Mr.Murry wanted to rescue
Charles but Mrs’ W’s said only Meg could do it because she lived with him when he was born,
Charles shared everything with her.
Finally, Calvin is one of main characters in this story. He represent good. He lived in an unhappy family. Even though, he loved his family so much, nobody cared what he thought.
“I don't know why I call her when I don't come home," Calvin said, his voice bitter. "She wouldn't notice." He sighed and dialed. "Ma?" he said.
