In an article conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “Today there are 49 million over age 65 and 53 million people have some form of disability. In many places across the country employment or independent living rests on the ability to drive. Automated vehicles could extend that kind of freedom to millions more. One study suggests that automated vehicles could create new employment opportunities for approximately 2 million people with disabilities.” People with disabilities are strongly limited to the places that they can go, especially if they are not able to drive. With the innovation of self-driving cars, this will allow for more opportunities to get places and do things.
Self-driving cars are becoming a mainstream necessity as more and more automotives race to make the best one. As the years progress each car will become more advanced, and include new safety feature and navigational features. It is predicted that these cars will be ready 2020, and some as soon as 2019.
