The evidence shown in the graph to the left displays the percentage of scientists and engineers employed in government who are managers, by race/ethnicity and sex (MindTools, 2018). This graph also shows that in each of these categories, men are ahead of women by over five-percent. White men take up 49.7 percent of the science and engineering jobs while women only take up 36.3 percent of them. Asian men take up 36.7 percent of the jobs and women only take up 28.1 percent of the jobs. Black men fill 46.0 percent of the jobs while Black women only take up 37.2 percent of them. Hispanic men occupy 43.3 percent of science and engineering based jobs while Hispanic women only occupy 36.6 percent of them. Lastly, American Indian / Alaska Native men fill up 52.4 percent of jobs in this field compared to 27.7 percent of American Indian / Alaska Native women. There is clearly a trend that is occurring and this, again, results in the glass ceiling. This means that the glass ceiling exists and although individuals may want to say that it does not, this graph clearly proves them
