Going to college can help you gain that work ethic needed because you are forced to manage your time properly and effectively so that you don’t end up failing. Many kids fail to do so because they're so used to putting thing off until the last minute which tends to not work in college. Those skills make or break a person so that when he or she fails it gives them a broader sense of reality so that they can adjust to make things work. While in high school the workload was a lot but was manageable and easy to miss a lot of classes, in college it's not the same way, the professors expect a lot more of students because in the real world your bosses aren't going to care if you just didn't want to an assignment.
