There have been many beliefs since the beginning of man. The beliefs tell stories of heroes or saviors and the reason for men to exist. Every country has many beliefs. These beliefs had a part in shaping what the world is today. One of these beliefs is greek mythology, with its many monsters and heroes it is still entrancing readers of all ages today.

In greek mythology there is many gods and goddesses. There are 14 major gods and countless lesser gods. Only twelve lives on mount olympus. Zeus is a major god and the leader of the gods. Hera is zeus's wife and sister. Athena is also a major god and lives on mount olympus. Then there is poseidon zeus's brother who lives up there in mount olympus hades don't live up there he lives in the underworld.. Zeus leads the gods and rules over the heavens. Hera is the goddesses of marriage. Athena is goddesses of wisdom and craft.she is shown wearing a full set of armor complete with a helmet

Most of them is children of the gods and goddess themselves. Chimaera was the daughter of typhon and echidna. She had the body of a goat, head of a lion, and a tail of a snake. She died by being struck by arrows shot by a martol by the name bellerophon. Scylla was not like the other monsters. She was beautiful but because glaucus fell in love with her he had a potion made to make scylla fall in love with him. Scyllas rival put a poison in the bath and turned her into a monster. The is no true form that she is depicted of having. The minotaur was a child of a bull and a human. The bull was meant to be sacrificed but was kept as a pet by king minos and his wife. The minotaur had the head of a bull but a body of a man. He was not killed by any demigods. The sphinx was the daughter of typhon and echidna. She had the head and breasts of a women but a body of a lion. She killed herself after one of her riddles was answered
