First and foremost, you need to be able to obtain a proper cage for your pet. Make sure their living quarters are at least 18 inches wide, 14 inches high, and 25 inches deep, equally important, they have to have high-quality lining and hay on the bottom of their cages. Guinea pigs have really tender feet so they need something to protect them. It is highly important to know the proper grip because guinea pigs get easily stressed out and need to be reassured. Your grip is what tells them if you are a friend, or an enemy. First, you start by placing one hand under their chest just behind their front legs, and gently cupping your other hand under their bottom. Then, once you have a firm but gentle grip on your guinea pig, lift them close to your chest or lap so they don’t thrash around. Finally, just make sure that your guinea pig is comfortable, and not being hurt in any
