So they just started offering homes for those who didn’t have one. By making them pay 50 dollars or 30% of their check. they pay whichever is more. They brought homelessness down by 91%. It's not the best solution but it works. Some of the people that are fortunate enough to get this privilege wreck their living space. Some people simply are used to living on the streets and they prefer it. This is an issue nationally, because it is almost like a disease. Some people can’t help and some people bring it on themselves. Think about how many people are very hungry and sitting out on the sidewalk because the couldn’t function in society. When I say that, I don’t mean the people that are trying to hustle money from people to buy drugs. The people that are really struggling to stay alive. The chronically homeless people are the ones that get “punished” for it. Im sure that some states will not do what utah has done, simply for the fact that it is expensive. Also, a good majority are not even homeless. I think that is completely unfair. Just because something dramatic happened in their life doesn’t mean that they have to suffer. Offer the help at least once. If they deny or they don’t like the program, simply move on. Give help to the people that actually want out of that
