This quote relates to my essay because Scout never really understood people until Atticus told her to put herself in other people’s shoes. In the book “To Kill a Mockingbird” Atticus tells Scout that she can not judge somebody, if she doesn’t know the person well. When she took Walter Cunningham down she didn’t know that he couldn’t afford food because he was poor, most people just thought that he’ll eat at home, but he never eats. So, Calpurnia tells Scout to not to judge Walter because Walter is their guest and they never judge their guests. When Calpurnia tells Scout to come into the kitchen and talk to her, Cal gave her a spanking for what she did to Walter at the dinner table. In conclusion, most people would say that scout has evolved the most throughout the entire book because she finally puts herself in Boo Radley’s shoes and sees what he sees when she walks him home.
