Over years of technology has changed the way everything is done. It has improved businesses’ way of communication to their customers, like websites. It has also improved the way data is collected and analyzed. Technology is even taking peoples places in the workplace. The way things are done in companies now are extremely different from how it was done 50 years ago.
Technology has changed the way businesses advertise their product or service. It has made it easier and cheaper. The Internet has made it more user friendly for customers to find what they need fast. Now business can show their ad for little if not free. They do not have to pay for it to be advertised on television or the radio when they have a free source to advertise on.
Businesses could not strive and grow without their customers. Customers should be able to interact with the company they are buying or getting the service from. Most Businesses have websites now-of-days. These websites provide information that the customers want. It would be more convenient for the customers to look up any information on their time. Websites are also a great way for companies to advertise their product or service.
Advertisement in a business can improve their sales. Small business can get their names out by putting ads on web browsers. If a customer searches for a product their link for their website can show up and be found. Advertising can be displayed in many ways. Including newspapers, websites and social media. Promoting a product or service online encourages people to buy the product. Promotions include: advertising, pursuing, publicity, direct marketing, and producing. It pays to Promote. Overtime, technology has improved. Most owners and employees have cell phones now. This allows them to get in touch with each other and with the customers in a timely manner. Now with smartphones allow quick access to the Internet, email and other applications the business uses. Email, text messaging, and other social networking1 allow businesses, especially small ones, to stay connected with their customers. This also improves communication within the company.
The use of computers, cell phones/smartphone and other technology has made businesses more productive. Computers have made creating, storing, and finding old data easier. Managers or owners of a business should keep employees focused and keep the technology updated to achieve goals. Employees can email or online chat with the customers to solve the customers problem quickly. Sometimes a phone call can be more productive than email.
Customer service is important in any business. Employees should be trained and know how to know how to use the technology they will be using. The technology brings businesses closer to the customer. Businesses can use email to answer questions, offer online chat to help customers that our on the business website, and a front desk where customers can call and get their answers they need.
Businesses no longer need to use face-to-face communication like they used to. There are now ways to communicate to other businesses and customers. This includes online chats and also software like “Skype” which allows businesses to use a webcam. None face-to-face communication could be used for businesses who have clients in other states or other countries. (Burg, 2013)
Using social media for marketing purposes can help reach more customers. Customers are using these social media so by putting the business on these social medias will increase the business. When creating the social media for the business, there should be a plan. This plan should include; Listening to customers, set social media objectives, define the strategy, identify a target, select the tools and monitor the strategies. The business should either train or hire
