1.1 Explain what constitutes a team in an adult care setting and the different roles within the team. Firstly, in the team are the people we support and their families. Support workers, Team Leaders, Service Managers and higher management. The people we support are the centre of the support and need to be listened to and encouraged to share their views, hopes and wishes. Families bring experiences and history of the people we support and share important information and ideas with the support. Support workers who are responsible for the everyday support/care for the people in our service. Team leader to encourage, support the team, to deliver a high standard of support, to lead by example. I booked them on the next training date, this gave us a date and time to plan and looked at time on the rota to complete the online training before the classroom training. Once they had completed the online training and classroom training, I could complete observation supervision and sign them off as completed.

2.7 Describe ways to develop the team to address challenges that arise. For a team to overcome challenges, the team needs to identify the challenge, discuss and listen. Share experiences, strengths, skills, abilities and capabilities. Look at training or any additional training needs that may help with the challenge. Look at the structure of achieving the goals, around the challenges.

One of the people in one of the services was not sleeping at night and was waking the sleepover staff up at 3am each morning. Together in the team meeting we looked at and discussed any environmental changes that could be causing this. Worked with health professionals to make sure no health needs had changed.
