They usually have an organizations or individuals formed formally. Lawmakers and lawmaking are also influenced by them. They spend thousands of dollars to influence these people. They usually get focused on a certain issues and work on it with the people who support them. Similarly, Lobbyists are a group of people who influence the legislators and government decision. It provides diverse opinions and thoughts in making any decision by the government. They are hired to argue with the government and work in favor of them. And, I agree with the fact that these interest group should have restriction and regulations. Although they work for the benefit of all the people in a state or nationwide, it is not always that people get satisfied with the decision they make. They sometime even make decision in their favor. People argue that lobbyists have too much power. They can influence on any decision, sometime may be on their favor. As we all know that, being a democratic country, law should be for everybody. Democracy is for the people and by the people, so I believe that these authorities should not be priorities to influence each decision whether it is liked by the people or not. There should be restrictions and regulations on them. They make legislature on their behalf either through spending huge amount of capital on them or by sending a special invitation to them, so these activities should be controlled by the law of the …show more content…
1 According to Ramsey, “State law requires lobbyists to report what they spend on legislators and other state officials. 2 But the loopholes are big: 3 Less than 5 percent of the lobby's reported spending on food and beverage names the eaters and the drinkers” (The Texas Tribune). The article mentions that, only 5 percent of the expenditures made on food and beverages are reported legally. Rest of the 95 percent is disclosed. As per the report shown by The Texas Tribune, lobbyists are not spending the funding in which they are elected for. These lobbyists spend approximately 2.46 million out of 7.4 million on legislative employees. There is a huge investment made in food and beverage, nearly 4.8 million dollars is spent on food and beverages (Ramsey). As these lobbyists, do not have to report the expenditure made on food and beverages that is less than $114 a day, there are 95% of the expenditure that are reported do not have the name of receipts. 3 As The Texas Tribune states, “Lawmakers have filed several bills to change the reporting requirements, if not the spending. Some would cut to $50 the amount that can be spent before the beneficiaries have to be named.” And I too believed that there must be made some restriction in the way that lobbyists spent it on lawmakers.
