The first article I read was Does Texting Affect Writing? by Michaela Cullington and in this article the author explains their thoughts behind how texting is starting to affect those writing skills. To start off her writing in the article she explains what texting is and why so many people prefer to text instead of calling the individual. “It is a common means of communication among teenagers and is even becoming popular in the business world because it allows quick messages to be sent without people having to commit to a telephone conversation.” (Cullington, 2015, pp.361) As people started to get comfortable and more creative through texting, people found different ways to communicate within the text message by abbreviate the words to be able to text faster. The author inferred that robots will one day rule the working community and take away those jobs since robots are more efficient, faster and stay consistent. Nicholas Carr articles wrote that humans was more independent and more intellectual before technology became big. “according to the National Center for Education Statistics, only 25% of high school seniors are “proficient” writers.” (Cullington, 2015,
