The digital age and the way that people think are directly correlated to one another. Both “Is Google Making Us Stupid” by Nicholas Carr and “Get Smarter” by Jamais Cascio address the change that has occurred in the way that people read, write, and even think. Both essays agree that the digital age has changed society. However, the viewpoints that each author expresses differ from one another. In “Is Google Making Us Stupid?”, the author focuses his ideas on the negative impacts that the digital age has brought upon society. In “Get Smarter”, the author discusses how the digital age has the ability to raise one’s intelligence. Despite the differences between each of the essays, “Is Google Making Us Stupid?” compares with “Get Smarter” in the sense of the big picture. For example, though they may have slightly different views on what type of impact the digital age has on society, the essays both agree that the millennial age has resulted in great
