In our care setting we need to ensure that we do not treat individuals or groups less fairly because of certain things such as age, race, social class, ability and many more. We want to make sure that the residents receive good care no matter who they are, what they have done in the past or what they believe in.
In a care setting we need to make sure that someone’s sexuality does not affect how we give them care or what we think of them. No matter if they are straight, bisexual, gay, lesbian or anything else we shouldn’t think any less of them, our main priority is ensuring we give them a good standard of care. For example, if a resident is able to walk with a Zimmer frame or walking stick they should be given the same care and attention as someone who is unable to walk at all, just because they are more mobile than others that doesn’t mean they don’t need the less care.
Care workers should not think any less of the residents because of their family structure or where they have grown up just because someone doesn’t live in a big privately owned house or have everything up to date does not mean they are any less of a human being and they should receive the same care as someone who has all that.
