I believe my main contribution would lie in my experiences. I have participated in a variety of group organizations, from my youth group to the Christian club and the Enactus team at Blue Ridge Community College to the small girl’s club that I currently co-lead. These experiences have taught me both how to support a team’s efforts by working in the background and how to step out and take a lead position when appropriate. I give credit to my years as a home-school student, in conjunction with my experiences in group organizations, for teaching me how to work both independently and as a part of a team. My primary strength, which I feel will be my largest contribution to the community, is my flexibility and dedication to doing my part in pushing forwards the greater good of those around me. When I am faced with a goal, whether it be a broad challenge or a specific need, I do not instinctively fall into a set method of working to accomplish that goal. Instead, I try to identify what role I am most fit to fill, and then put my shoulder to the wheel and fill that role until the goal is met. So, while I doubt that I will often be the student who takes the lead on a daring new project, I can say that I will do my best to be the steady force pushing forwards the worthy endeavors of the Honors
