To be an massage therapist you have to have A certificate or diploma program. The training will have to be 500 to 1,000 hours of study and hands-on training. If you decide on going to school in a different state, licensing or certification required in most states.
One school that I researched was Southwest Institutes of Healing Arts. This School offers massage programs that are customizable to where you can choose your point of interests and specialties. Students are eligible for national certification and licensing in every program the school provides. Another school was the National University Of Health Sciences. The school provides introductory and advanced massage techniques and including business and communication skill.
Some states or cities require that a massage therapist be licensed. Without that licenses they must demonstrate competency and agree to certain guidelines. Some cities require certification or registration which is less restrictive but still monitored by the government. A massage therapist is going to fall into in career of a physical therapist. The reason it falls under this one career is because their jobs are almost completely alike except for they have a little differences.
