I have completed my internship field hours at The Mental Health Association of Forsyth County. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience, learned more about my field of future work, and grown as an individual. My agency serves any and all perspective clients who call in need of services or assistance, however, our main focus of populations of people is Forsyth County and or in Winston-Salem. I want to mention that even though this is the agencies main target we offer assistance to anyone in the surrounding counties such as Davie, Guilford, Surry, and Stokes. The Mental Health Association will match any individual in need of assistance to the appropriate means. My internship has a main focus on the community as a whole specifically in Forsyth County. In my two semesters, I have seen all populations of people enter our agency or within various programs so we don’t have a specific population of people who we target. I would say the population I have seen is pretty equal between men, women, older individuals, young people, and all races and ethnicities. I appreciate seeing the diversity at my internship because it has made me comfortable with all populations of people. My internship has many programs that they offer and to give you a brief overview of how they serve the community I am going to reference my agencies in house form “We are here for the Community.” The main service they provide is free weekly support groups that focus on clients with schizophrenia, anxiety, depression, young adult issues, mood disorders, and coping with the loss of a loved one who overdosed. These free support groups have attracted a large number of Forsyth County residents. My agency also offers a free information and referral call service that will match clients who are in need of specific services. In regard to
