An OBGYN stands for obstetrics and gynecology, which is a person who practices medicine as a doctor. An OBGYN primarily deals with women's health concerns and delivers babies. They are extremely good at listening, caring, and nurturing. They are passionate about women and women’s health and have compassion for future generations. They perform surgical care for women and have an expertise with pregnancy and disorders of the reproductive system.

The next step is to complete an internship and residency in a hospital or clinical setting. An internship is usually only a year long, and a residency can last for 3-7 years. During a medical residency, obstetrics and gynecology students get paid and may evaluate patients, make treatment plans and observe patient progress.
