Also, Emotional intelligence the book describes as, “The ability to manage oneself and to manage relationships with others” (Whetten & Cameron pg61). Sometimes when I have an argument with my friends or family I never show my emotions and I always try to calm myself down. Then, I apologize for our argument and then I try to show what the problem was and how we can solve it without any arguments. I try not to become angry and if I do become angry, I try not to come to decisions. To come to a decision when you are angry you may make a wrong decision, so I consider first my options before I try anything. For example, I am a mom and being a mom is a challenging job. As a mom, I must understand and interpret my child’s moods and emotions. I must understand their problems and how they handle their feeling to determine what happened and what caused their problems. Sometimes I yell and become angry, and I know to yell is not always the answer. I have a superior understanding with my child’s and I have excellent social skills that help me to avoid conflict and build trust and have teamwork with my children.
