The environment that shaped me occurred during my time in a hospital where I died. I started to feel pain in my upper abdomen which persisted the weekend before my junior year of high school started so me and my mother arrived to the emergency room where I was scanned and had an iv inserted in my vein before I took an ambulance to a children’s hospital where i complained about missing school. The memories of my time in the hospital are blurred into sequences that have no order. This is caused by my mental and physical damage that took place during all the surgeries but with help from my mother i can slowly piece some of it together. the main reason I was admitted to the hospital happened because the scans revealed that I had gallbladder stones. I went through a surgeries that involved sticking a tube down my throat called a ERCP to extract the stones but when that failed they had to remove the gallbladder itself. They sent me back home on saturday but by monday i was sick again with a yellow pigment that indicate that something was blocking my liver and it would shut down so another ERCP operation was performed and i was sent home again. one week later my pigment became almost orange which meant that i had an infection. i will always have right side brain damage which increases the severity of my emotions,short term memory loss which makes it difficult to learn new things, and PTSD which will always remind me of my traumatizing event. . But I push past those feelings of depression and anxiety to consider how my family and hospital supported me in my time of need. I’m now in my senior year of high school after my homebound year, and it’s difficult but I know I have to succeed. I have to succeed because I need to become a nurse to help people like the nurses helped
