Coach Peterson announced that she was going to read off the fifteen tentative varsity players for the season. We all realized that varsity rosters consist of eighteen girls to have a full team, so she told us that there were three spots to fill so everyone should keep working hard to try and earn their spot. I actually had hope that I might be able to play varsity. She started to read off the list and I heard Sarah Wendel and my first thought was, she’s in my grade and I don't think I'm going to make it. Then she continued down the list and the next name that popped out at me was Katie Cooling, who was a freshman that was new to our school.
