Personal Narrative: The First Day Of High School

The first day of highschool; the freshmen scared for their life as the seniors cheered, knowing that the last year of school was coming, unless they went to college. The school bullies roamed the halls, scoffing at the nerds that strolled through the passageways. A quite skinny male with brown hair that laid down to just before the bottom of his ears quickly walked through the hall, a black bag slouched over his shoulder. A paper with small font sat in his hands, his eyes vigorously scanning it over and over. Edwin Ridgewood - Grade 9 - Locker 253. He already knew his name and grade, that’s simple information. Now...where were the lockers?
Edwin hadn’t come to the open house. Both of his parents had work that night, and he had to watch

Jogging back to the area, he looked at his locker. He was supposed to buy a lock at open house...was everything centered around open house? Maybe he should ask one of the counselors...no. The counselors don’t do anything here, according to some seniors who had bumped into him and decided to warn him about everything in the school that he wants to steer away from. German - 1. Language Arts - 2. Science - 3. Study Hall - 4. Band - 5. Technology - 6. Math - 7. History - 8. Hey, German was cool. Better than Spanish, at least. Apparently he had no lunch period. Fifth period, he was supposed to get his lunch and bring it to the band room and eat it there. Arranging his folders for the order of his classes, he held everything in his arms, close to his chest as he nearly ran to the stairs, pushing himself to keep speed as he went up, making it into his homeroom just before the tardy bell rung. He knew they weren’t giving tardies for the first week, but it was reassuring knowing that it wasn’t much of a walk, even with the stairs. The first day of German went smoothly. He listened to the teacher, glad that he had a sense of humor. He was actually quite funny. They didn’t actually do any German, just introduced themselves. It was odd being the only British kid. Next was language arts. That class seemed lengthy, even though it was the same amount of time as the rest. The teacher just lectured and lectured. No one spoke a word while she
