Every colored person is motivated to protect their culture and their life because of how cops treat them. When they are motivated to do something, they won’t stop until they get their point across to everyone, so not only them but everyone can see how the world treats color. This author Besson said “Human theorists, even among those who take the supply side of human rights seriously” (Besson et al. ). Anyone’s life can change in a heartbeat, even a simple pull over, thinking it’s just a regular pull over, but then they never get to see the next day. They try to maintain the situation, everything doesn’t go the way he or she would think it would go. Black individuals have a harder life than white individuals. White people always have it easier than black people. White people are able to leave their house without getting stared at, or even able to make it back home that night. Even though police brutality didn’t start with people of color, it slowly evolved into that. Author Conrick et al. said, “Structural racism refers to the historically contingent and persistent ways in which social systems and institutions generate and reinforce inequities in access to power.” Many people believe that police officers overuse the power that they have as an officer. Some officers could say that they want to join the force to make a change in the world, but yet they abuse that power and do things that hurt their system and make people of color look at cops differently. Cops can do things that aren't right and have everyone look at them differently, even people of no color, because they also believe what cops are doing to people of color is not right and something should be done. People of color most of the time feel un-welcomed wherever they go, because of how police brutality has made black people look, police officers make colored people look bad and make them look like criminals because of their skin color.
