Dear President Biden, My name is Rethul Sankari. I'm 12 years old and from Saline, Michigan. I am originally from India. I’m writing this letter about an up-and-coming problem, police brutality. Did you know an estimated 250,000 civilian injuries are caused by law enforcement officers annually? Police brutality is the excessive and often illegal use of force against civilians by U.S. police officers. Police brutality is an injustice because of poor police training that causes families to lose loved ones and there is a lack of legal action. The Second Academy In 2002, a 9,000-square-foot addition was constructed on the Academy's south side. This evidence proves this injustice because it shows there are not many academies that are supported which means there are a lot of citizens trying to get this job which ultimately results in less training and poor police discipline, understanding of rights, and laws.
