America’s Biggest Challenge Poverty is America’s biggest challenge. Many people suffer from poverty each and every day. Living in poverty can have many negative impact on their life. For example, living in poverty damages their health, education, crime in their society and more. Poverty is something that has not went away and have been here in America for many decades. Poverty has been a never ending cycle throughout the world. Poverty affects their health in a negative way because they may not qualify for health insurance. If they do not have insurance, then they can not go see a doctor to receive the medical treatment that they need to survive. Another effect is if they have something that is contagious, they will spread it to their living environment and those around them. Many people that live in poverty, wants to escape it and go to college to better themselves, especially young children who live in poverty with their family. I said previously in the essay that scholarships often do not cover everything, but every amount helps. The child wants to go to college but is afraid that he/she will not have enough money to go to college to escape poverty. Another example, if a kid does not have the finest or cutest clothes, people often judge them. And because that child lives in poverty, they often only have used sometimes torn clothes. If they get bullied at school because of there family’s financial situation they often kid bullied.
