Across the world, racial profiling exists in your everyday life, do you notice and try to stop it or do you examine it and move on? Racial profiling happens in everyone's day-to-day life, whether you see it or not. Every cause for racial profiling has an effect, and individuals can be affected mentally or physically. Individuals of color aren’t treated fairly and given fewer opportunities since they have a different skin color than their surroundings. I have a dream that one day people will understand racial profiling as well as its causes and effects.

While simply just questioning a human of color, harms their justice and equality. According to a Gale High School article, “September 11 attacks, Muslims, Arabs, and Middle Easterners started encountering racial profiling by Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials at airports and on airplanes. In the years after the attacks, many of these passengers reported that security officers singled them out for questioning, searches, and detention simply for appearing to be of Middle Eastern descent” (go.gale.com). The reasoning behind the increase in racial profiling against Muslims, Arabs, and Middle Easterners after the attacks highlights the horrid character of the nation. The amount of trauma and fear caused by these events lead to anxiety about future threats, forcing TSA and other officials to feel pressured to focus on profiling individuals. While this approach was suggested to prevent future attacks, it caused the targeting of individuals based on their ethnicity. Everyone in life wants to be treated the same, but when you are targeted due to your past it causes the feeling of unfairness and the thought that racism is accepted and supported. People think declining immigration in countries doesn’t seem important, but it ruins opportunities for individuals to seek change in life. Based on an article, “Hispanic and Latino Americans are also victims of racial profiling”. Concerns about illegal immigration from Central and South America have led to the unjust targeting of Hispanic Americans by some law enforcement officials” (go.gale.com). This piece of evidence concerns the reality of our world: the targeting of Hispanic and Latino Americans due to the recent passing of illegal immigration in countries.
