“It becomes more and more difficult to avoid the idea of black men as subjects of not just racial profiling, but of an insidious form of racial obliteration sanctioned by silence”. Racial profiling needs to be put to a stop, or decrease by a very high percentage. Racial profiling is wrong to anyone of and age and any race. Men and women get discriminated and profiled every day just cause the color of their skin. On the day of March 3, 1991 a taxi driver named Rodney King was involved in a car chase. Once King was brought to a stop, the police officers commanded King to exit the vehicle and get on his knees. King did as commanded and was then beat repeatedly by four officers. A statistic in an article called “Racism statistics and facts” states “African Americans aged 12 and up are the most victimized in America. 41.7 over 1,000 of them are victims of violent crimes, compared with whites (36.3 over 1,000). This does not include murder” (Mujahid). This proves that African American males and females have been profiled more than any other race there is. The definition of a civil right is an enforceable right or privilege. Men and women of all races have the right to say what they want to say and be who they want to be. They should be able to be free without someone harassing them for the color of their skin or where they are from. People have three main freedoms which are speech, press, and assembly. The civil and political rights were made for a reason, and that reason is to protect ones freedom from the government and social groups. This also includes humans being racist to others humans. Humans have civil rights for a reason, and that reason is to keep their selves and their families safe. Under any circumstance a human has the right to do as they please, no matter the event or the outcome. That being said, the civil rights have been broken for decades without any harsh punishments on those who have violated the civil rights. Acts of civil rights violations are racial discrimination, sexual harassment, and fair housing violations. If you feel as if have been violated by any person in any of these three, then you may take it to the police department and file a complaint. The station will then send a harassment to the person who you feel violated you. If the person who is harassing you keeps on then you may hire a lawyer and take he/she to court.
