In 1981, the United States elected Ronal Wilson Reagan as fortieth President of the United States. During his tenure, he made many bold foreign policy moves. One of the moves he had made was known famously as the Reagan Doctrine. The Reagan Doctrine was produced in 1985 and was made to push back the Soviet forces in places such as Africa and the Middle East. The point of the adopted doctrine was to strategically aide these areas with the eradication of the Soviet Union’s influences, and communist ways of life. Reagan’s way of dealing with this issue was very direct and militant which differed from the methods of his predecessors.
