Reflection Unit 4

Unit four, more specifically reading the Reflect book, as well as earlier units have really had an impact on my faith walk. These units have forced me to think about some tough questions, some I just chose not to think about. It has helped me make my faith more personal as well as evaluate my life and see if I am living it in accordance with a Christ-centered theist. In this paper I will talk about some of those questions I’ve wrestled with, some things that have really impacted me, as well as how I am doing as compared to a Christ-centered theist.

In this unit something that was extremely meaningful to me was when the book talked how Jesus wants us to live our lives. I came to learn that what it means by Jesus wanting us to live our lives is that our relationship with God is not grounded in our attempts to be perfect and we don’t have to do “all the right things.” This was really comforting to read because so many times I get caught up in trying to pay back God for my salvation, and I use to think when I made a mistake I’m one step closer to God abandoning me, but that’s not the case. Continuing on, this unit supplied something really helped out my walk with Christ, but something that also really challenged it. When reading the pages later in the book the question that came to my mind was how can God create people even though he already knows they are going to hell, or choose some people to be saved and others not? I really wrestled with this, but have come to understand that we are all equally sinful and that nobody has any place or ground to beg for their salvation because none of us is truly deserving. So as a result if God wants to choose someone to be saved and another person not that we can not question his divine plan or
