Ruby Bridges was born on September 8th, 1954 in Tyler Town, Mississippi. When she was 4 years old, she and her family moved to New Orleans. Her family includes Lucille Bridges, her mom, Abon Bridges, her dad, and her siblings.

When Ruby Bridges was a kid, she had to take a test. When she passed, she was allowed to stay in her school or go somewhere else. At first, her father didn’t think it was a good idea because he thought it was dangerous, but her mother thought it was a good idea because of better education. Later, she finally convinced him.
