They also have a much higher risk of developing diseases like diabetes, hypertension and heart disease at a younger age. In a student’s life, fatty foods are a quick and easy snack in the lunchroom. They walk into line and ask for a bag of chips because either the food does not look appealing to them or that they don't like what's being served. Unfortunately, what that student does not realize is that the one time thing, where they get the bag of doritos, is going to turn into a everyday thing. By taking away the disgusting foods and substituting healthier snacks and a favorable food item,obesity will decrease and a student's chance of ever developing diabetes or other obesity illnesses will decrease.
On the other hand, students are complaining about the school lunches being changed and they feel like if their money is being used that they should have a right to what is being served and most people agree with that. The national school nutrition association agrees with both sides and they do not know either to make the school lunches healthier or to keep them the way they are.
