If you are a woman, chances are you wouldn’t be allowed to read this article if it weren’t for Susan B. Anthony. She was a trailblazer who relentlessly fought for women's rights, while also paving the way for our future world to be dominated by not only men, but women too.1 For her whole life she fought for women to have equal rights as men, and did not rest until she did everything she could to make this happen. Although she passed away just 14 years before women gained the right to vote, she and other trailblazing activists are the reason why women have all of the rights they do today. Her perseverance is the reason why women finally got the right to vote.13 Although Susan B. Anthony has accomplished so much, she has also had to deal with many obstacles. She has been arrested once14 and threatened numerous times, while also having to deal with the harsh criticism by men who didn’t want women to have rights. Despite these challenges, she never gave up and would never listen to the people who tried to stop her. Not only did most of the male population hate Susan B. Anthony, they feared her too. They knew that she had the power to help women rise up and get equal rights. As I stated before, Susan B. Anthony was arrested once before, this was when she attempted to vote for the congressional election in 1872.15 While this event alerted people who didn’t like her that she was a threat, it told women that she was someone to look up to and aspire to be like.16 Susan B. Anthony’s work never suffered from all the criticism she received, it even got better and more passionate.17 Her arrest inspired her to give one of her most well-known and beloved speeches of her career, “Declaration Rights,”18 women’s
