I see people driving and texting all the time. How there are not more accidents because of it is beyond me. According to this infographic on texting and driving, your attention leaves the road for a minimum of 5 seconds. That's a minimum!

They don't deserve to be hurt or killed because you want to read or send a text. That text is not worth anyone's life.

To be honest, even texting and walking isn't safe for you or others.

Not everyone feels comfortable calling a crisis helpline. Not everyone is capable of expressing their concerns verbally or even getting a moment to call a hotline in private where their family or friends won't see.

That's where the Crisis Text Line comes in.

They offer people in the United States a crisis counselor through texting. It's a safe way to talk to someone without having to actually speak.

I'm sure kids and some adults will feel much more comfortable with the ability to simply grab their phone and text - as if they are texting a friend.

Some people don't text well. They are unable to get their humor, sarcasm, or point across through a simple text, and it can send the wrong kind of message to the person they are texting.

Think about texting with your boss, mother, friend, or even new love interest. A misunderstood text message could cause some real problems in your life.

And, even something that doesn't seem that big could cause an issue that doesn't need to arise.

For instance, just the other day my husband texted me that he was at the grocery store. I thought he meant the grocery store close to home, so I threw supper on the stove and expected him home quickly.
