These tests are an unreliable measure of student performance. They evaluate students’ performance based on their learning of that particular day. Standardized tests meant to only evaluate the individual performance of students and their overall growth over the course of the years, instead on focusing what its most important, our abilities and our individual performance. Many people do not perform well on tests, they could be smart and understand a particular subject, but it could not end as expected from their perspective. Standardized tests measure only a small portion of what makes education meaningful. Test scores ignore the student’s true abilities and the importance of education and learning. Some students may have bad experiences on tests, but still could be smart. Sometimes when I study for a test and when i’m just about to take it, I start to get nervous and anxious. Nerves make my mind feel completely blank and make forget everything I studied. They allow districts and states to be compared in an accurate way. Standardized tests can help make lesson plans and give feedback in which students need the most help with. They show the knowledge of students planted by the teachers. They help teachers and administrators make decisions regarding the instructional program. Educators and schools are responsible for teaching students what they are required to know for these standardized tests. These types of test have become quite common in schools and are being used in order to obtain an objective picture of student, teacher, and district performance. This also make them a tool to blame teachers and schools for students successes or failures. Despite this, even though standardized testing provides information about the progress of students, the results can’t be accurate because of the stress levels students go through before and during the test. Stress and anxiety affect how a student comprehends a question, while also neglecting their true abilities and performance while taking
