Marilyn Monroe once said “To all girls who think you’re ugly because you’re not a size 0, you’re the beautiful one. It’s society who’s ugly.” Everyone is obsessed with their physical appearance more than they think they are. The media has given society an idea of the perfect body with unrealistic measurements that we can’t imitate. This is important because this can cause self­esteem issues, eating disorders, and depression. In the beginning, TVs and magazines have started the issue of body image by showing the standards of what is beautiful and what is not. Body image is how you see, feel, and think about your body. So, maybe not everything is the media’s fault. We as a whole are judging and shaming each other’s physical appearance;

There are hundreds of reports that prove most perspectives of body image is influenced by the media. Obsessing over how you look is a natural habit everyone has. A way to cancel out the media is by ignoring everything they say or do. Try to focus on the positive sides of your body and not what’s wrong with it. That can be hard though since the media will always find a way to get to you. Body Image should be looked into more.
