For the purpose of the Bill of Rights, many amendments are important and each one has a specific purpose. The First Amendment concerns freedom of speech, petition, religion, assembly, and press. The book says “The First Amendment protects Americans' freedom to choose their religious beliefs and practices”.This Amendment grants individuals the freedom to practice any religion and worship as they choose. It protects against being denied the right to practice any religion. Another example in the book says, “Freedom of Speech protects the people’s rights to give opinions”. Under the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights, individuals can express their opinions through protests and speeches. In the text, it says “In 1789, Americans wanted to protect their right to safety and privacy”(Social Studies Alive, 205). Back then, many Americans felt that police and others would search or go through things in privacy. “The Fourth Amendment says that officials cannot perform searches and seizures without a good reason”(Social Studies Alive,205). So this Amendment protects that from happening to us nowadays. This Amendment protects us from that. So police will have to go to a civil case to get a search warrant to search or seize
