There is a large debate of whether or not minorities are getting their share in the labor force. Some people believe that they are getting their share, and some people believe that they aren’t. With the research that is going to be provided in this paper, you can decide for yourself if minorities are actually getting their share of the labor force in the United States.
The amount of jobs is increasing monthly, but the amount of applicable jobs are decreasing. The main reason that the amount of jobs is decreasing, is because there are more people in the United States than there are jobs. Although minorities are getting a lot of the jobs in the United States, they are getting the low paying jobs instead of the higher paying jobs like the manager,

Too many people in the United States are beginning to stop trying to find a job, and also there are many more children in the United States than there were a few years ago, which is helping increase the unemployment rate. The majority of the time when you walk into a little fast food restaurant, you would probably see a person who isn’t white working at the restaurant. Since the most common jobs are the jobs which pay the least, and there is the most of, it makes sense that most people would try to get a job working there, because if they do get the job, even if it isn’t much, it is payment for sure. These jobs typically pay minimum wage, which is $7.25 an hour in North Carolina. Although the minorities are getting paid minimum wage, in 2011 about half African-American teens 16 and older had a job.
