There wasn't a big transition academically, the biggest change is the amount of hours your have to take out of your day just to study. In college there might not be homework to help boost your grade, it will just be exams. The only personal transition is learning how to live on your own. There is no one telling you to get up to go to class, no one telling you when to come home.When you come to college you have to realize that everything is in your hands and you have to become more responsible. Everyone knows why they come to college, so when you get here you have to make sure you stay on the best track possible to help you reach your end goal, which is graduating college. You never want your bad decisions to ruin that end goal. The only person that can ruin your goals is yourself. I discourage doing anything you are uncomfortable with because sometimes that can be the thing that ruins you, never let someone peer pressure you into doing something you don't want to do. Never change who you truly are because you want to fit into a crowd, stay true to yourself because there are people out there who like doing things you like to do, so there is never a reason to change so you can be “cool”. I encourage everyone to stay true to themselves. In order to stay true to yourself is to go out and look for clubs and organizations that you may enjoy. First off, one of the best things about being a college student is scheduling. You get to make your schedule how you want it. You get to choose what classes you want to take on what day, depending on when it’s offered. When you become a college student, you get to explore your interests, things that you love. You get to discover yourself as a person all while learning these new things. College is way better than high school because in high school you feel like nothing you're learning matters, but in college everything you're learning has everything to do with your major. The only bad thing I can think about Western and college in general is all the money you have to pay, so I encourage everyone to find scholarships to help out in that area.
