While being addressed as the pioneer and creator of the animation industry, Walter Elias Disney is also considered one of the greatest possessors of imagination. He was born in December 5th, 1901 in Chicago. He spent most of his early life in Marceline, Missouri which is the place his interest in drawing originated. Disney painted pictures and sold them to his neighbors, family and friends. He attended to McKinley High School where he took drawing classes and became one of the cartoonists of the school paper. His ambitious characters’ first appearance was when he took classes at night from Chicago Art Institute. In this newly established organisation, they produced their first cartoons (Laugh-o Grams as they called it). Laugh-o Grams was Disney’s first initiative, but it failed after being forced to declare bankruptcy in 1923. Walter then moved to Hollywood with his brother. They received their first order when the company was running in their uncle’s garage. The order was from a distributor in New York, Margret Winkler, and she ordered Alice cartoons. After realizing the major mistake he has made when Winkler and her husband stole their cartoons, Walt developed the character whom every person alive got to know of, Mickey Mouse. It was a milestone for him and later became the sensational breakthrough he was looking for. With his voice as Mickey Mouse, the great adventures of Disney Studios were in action. This cartoon made its premiere at the colony theatre in New York, 1928.
