"According to the United Nations, about three milllion shipwrecks await discovery on the ocean floor" Florida Water Treasure hunters by Scott L. Key lines 1-5. There are so many that we have not discovered yet. But there is one problem that we must face, how do we get to the treasure?
Florida is a target of treasure hunters. Florida has a lot of shore and water. Many people have found spanish coins on the shore so who knows what is in the water! A man named Mel Fisher …show more content…
They found gold rings, chains, and gold coins. There total profit came to be about 300,000 dollars.
There is another type of finding treasure. By using airplane radar. The radar use technology to look at the ground and then it shows is 10 feet under. Many civalazations have been discoverd this way. In egypt many pyramids have been found using this technology. It is so much easier than walking around with an map and hoping that the map works right. "Withen three weeks I found 70 sites. If I had approached this as a traditional foot survey it would have taken me three and half years" Searh for Ancient Civlazations by Juan De Los Santos lines 9-12.
This method is the obvious choice of treasure hunters around the world. There are way to many places that need to be found and talked about. We still dont know about some civilizations that are probablyvery importent to history. This could be the future of the world. How many civilizations are undiscoverd? if there are three million ship wrecks yet to be found then how many civlizations are there that are undiscovered?
There is still one, the last strategy that I have not metioned it is called LIDAR. What is LIDAR you ask? Well LIDAR is a plane radar that can see through vegetation. With the other plane radar you can olny see through the ground but with LIDAR you can see through vegatation.
This is a very useful technique because with the other radar you can only see through one foot into the ground. This is at a tie with the other kind of radar this , this radar is good for pweople who are searching throught the forest but the other radar is good for the people who our looking in the desert or out in the open with no trees. I myself cannot choose between the two but if i had to choose I would have to say lidar.
I wold have to say LIDAR due to the fact that it has the additional skill that it can see through deep vegetation. "The scientists and their team swung machetes to slowly hack their way through dense tropical vegetation" Search for Anceint civlizations by Juan De Los Santos
